Quality Technician
This exciting role will ensure the overall quality and compliance of products or services within the company. A solid understanding of quality control and assurance processes within a manufacturing environment will be needed to be successful in this role. They are headquartered in the Burlington, WA area. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of solar cells and PV Modules for the renewable energy industry. Responsibilities:
- Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods
- Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures
- Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes, and inputting data
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
- Proposing improvements to the production process
- Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet standards
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs
- Perform testing at various stages on the manufacturing line
- Collecting and compiling statistical quality data
- Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans
- Determining the root causes of product defects and scrap
- Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly
- Do quality controls per Work Instructions (WI’s) on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products
- Suggest improvements to the WI’s to reduce scraps and improve the performance of the finished product
- Continually support the Production staff on WI’s, quality and process issues with Management
- Create statistical analysis and reports on the quality of raw materials and finished product as required
- Utilize and maintain the supplied instruments of measurement according to WI and safety standards
- Monitor and suggest improvements to Management on the production for the steps of the process
- Monitor and audit operations, suggesting improvements to the tools of quality control used in the production line
Qualifications:
- 1-3+ years of quality control or assurance experience is required
- Can work well with a team and independently
- Knowledge of quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Previous PV module manufacturing experience is preferred
Salary Range:
Weekly Schedule Options:
- NIGHT SHIFT (additional $2.00/hr): 6:00 PM- 6:00 AM with rotating Pitman schedule 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, etc.
- 1st SHIFT: 6:00 AM-6:00 PM with rotating Pitman schedule 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, etc.
